Wild & Free Gallery | Whitley Bay

Artist owned independent gallery by the sea.

Here at Wild & Free we will be staging regular exhibitions by a variety or artists. Each month a dedicated wall in the gallery will change to offer new works by a particular artist or group of artists. Works will be for sale but the prime reason to exhibit is to show a variety of work that may not otherwise be accessible to visitors and maybe inspire them to start their own creative journey.

Aside from that wall we also have a screen and YouTube channel which we intend to grow by inviting digital works. Currently there are some little films about work that resident artist Gail Curry has made or a slide show of exhibitions she has visited and photographed.

Our third exhibition space is the window which maybe used to showcase work for sale in the gallery or short term shows of work that can’t be hung on the exhibition wall.

EDAN Gallery | Seaham

This lovely little gallery is run by East Durham Artists’ Network (EDAN), a collective of professional and amateur artists who work in a variety of media.

The former toilet block on the town’s main street was repurposed in 2012 and is the only dedicated art gallery in East Durham, making it a favourite tourist destination in this increasingly popular seaside town.

East Durham Artists’ Network are committed to the promotion of arts and culture in the region. They host a regular programme of events and exhibitions in the gallery which also serves as their HQ.
